WATS/WAVR “Choice 102” is an AM/FM simulcast operation located in Sayre. Programming an adult contempory format targeted to an adult audience 25 to 54, and specifically the 35-44 core group. Choice 102 is the dominant station in the Valley area of Sayre, Athens and Waverly and is the broadcast entertainment and information source for all of Bradford County as well as portions of Tioga and Susquehanna counties in Pennsylvania and Chemung and Tioga counties in New York.
Our stations have a strong Local News and Sports commitment and have been awarded the “Award for Excellence in Broadcasting 2005” for the Best Local Radio Newscast. And the “Award for Excellence in Broadcasting 2006” for Best Radio Program Designed for Children by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. And the Best Radio Station Sponsored Event for 2006, 2007, 2008 from the New York State Association of Broadcasters.
In addition, our stations have been the home of the “Scholarship Challenge” for the last 29 years, a program celebrating the academics of our youth. Scholarship Challenge has been the recipient of both the New York State and the Pennsylvania Broadcasters “Best Small Market Radio Program for Youth” awards as well as being honored with the President’s Citation for “Private Sector Initiative Award” as well as the New York State United Teachers “Golden Apple Award”.
